Pacific Dreamstates

These underwater photographs were made on one breath of air while free diving with a Nikonos camera and 35mm film. After that, the black and white prints were made in the darkroom by hand. With them, I attempt to illustrate the reverie of the Pacific Ocean, seen from below – silent but so alive, serene yet profoundly haunting, the depths alternately shimmering with light or impenetrable with life.
